A clear logo file and a short brief make a custom gift easier to get right. Use this guide to prepare your artwork, explore a visual concept and understand what still needs approval before production.
Three different things: preview, artwork and proof
- Visual preview: an illustration of an idea on a product image. It helps you discuss scale, position and colour; it is not an exact print simulation.
- Production artwork: the original logo or design supplied for the selected decoration method. Keep this file separate from a screenshot or downloaded mockup.
- Final proof: the product, artwork, placement and other production details presented for your approval. Check it carefully before authorising custom work.
Prepare the right file
Keep your original vector logo if you have one, together with any brand colour references. A transparent PNG can be useful for a quick visual preview. A JPG normally includes its background, which may show as a rectangle on the product. Renaming a JPG to SVG does not turn it into vector artwork.
For the online Design Studio, use PNG, JPG or a clean SVG within the displayed file-size limit. SVG files with active content or external resources are rejected. Large production files and other formats should be discussed with Gifty separately; the preview upload is not the production-file handoff.
Try your logo on a product
- Open a product and choose its Design Studio.
- Upload a preview logo, or add a short line of text.
- Position and resize the design within the suggested preview area. Leave breathing room around edges, seams and handles.
- Compare a subtle placement with a larger one. Keep the version that suits the recipient and product.
- Save or download the visual where available, then contact Gifty with the product link, quantity and your brief.
Saving a design on your device does not submit an order, reserve stock or send the original artwork to Gifty. Keep your original file. The on-screen boundary is a planning aid; the usable production area must be confirmed for the exact product.
Help your logo stay recognisable
Start with a version that is easy to read at a small size. Very fine details or a long tagline may need a different placement or a simplified version. Screen colours are not a promise of the final result: the product colour, material and decoration method affect the appearance. If a precise brand colour is important, mention it in the brief rather than relying on the preview alone.
What to send with your request
- Product link and preferred colour or variant
- Quantity and any different names or designs
- Logo file and a note describing the intended placement
- Target budget, including whether it covers decoration and delivery
- Required arrival date and delivery city or postal code
- Packaging requirements and any recipient restrictions
Before approving the proof
Check spelling, names, dates, logo version, orientation, product colour and placement. Ask how decoration, setup, packaging and shipping are priced. Confirm the production schedule and delivery estimate for your actual order. A saved mockup alone does not confirm any of these details.
Common artwork questions
Can I use an image generated with AI?
It may help communicate a visual direction. It is not automatically print-ready, and small lettering or logo details may need correction. Only supply artwork you are entitled to use, and have the final production file reviewed.
Can every item be branded in the same way?
No. Decoration depends on the item, surface and order requirements. A printed mug, embroidered garment and marked notebook need different preparation; ask Gifty to confirm what is suitable.
What if I only have a low-resolution logo?
Send what you have when discussing the project and explain where it came from. Gifty can review what is usable and confirm whether extra artwork preparation is needed before work proceeds.
